Newbie question - as I am not familiar with this.Īssume this software bundle can be used for photo editing - how is it compared to something like Photoshop in terms of capabilities(not price)? The performance of applying the different filters and doing the different edits in Luminar AI is fine for me even with my 61mp photos.

I have a somewhat fast computer with fast SSD drives. The Luminous deal of $59 for Luminous Neo and an additional $29 dollars for Luminous AI does not come with Aurora HDR or any of the other great components of this bundle. I am looking forwards to bracketing landscapes again with Aurora HDR and having more control over the results. My old camera had built in HDR compilation which I really loved. Honestly replacing the sky has no interest to me. There is a lot more to this software than simply replacing the sky in a photo with beautiful stock photo sky. I don't edit photos on a daily basis so I will never gain the proficiency of the pros on the pro editing tools. I am not a pro, I am an enthusiastic amateur who doesn't particularly enjoy spending hours tweaking a single photo and I do not get paid for doing so. If I was a pro photographer I would take the time to learn the pro photo editing packages.

I was easily able to remove skin blemishes, erase fuzz on their clothing, brighten up the lighting on their faces, easily set complementary color, brightness and contrast as well a tweak many other settings in a few minutes.

This isn't a dig against Photoshop, I am just not any near proficient with the complexities of Photoshop. I spent hours working on one picture in photoshop and the results weren't nearly as good as what I got from the Luminar AI software in about 5 minutes. I was incredibly impressed with this software. I had several portraits of my daughter's friends that I needed to tweak for their senior pictures (my daughter is a junior). It took about 20 minutes to learn the ins and outs of the Luminar AI software.

Luminar offers a time restricted full version trial on their website. I came across the SD post which prompted me to look into the Luminar AI software.
